Adult Jazz Ensemble
Pick up that horn and get back into the groove!
This instrumental combo was started by local seniors who wanted to learn to play jazz standards. At first, they wanted to keep the tunes to the ones the seniors would appreciate, so the age was restricted to 65+.
Now the group has branched out and is welcoming any adults who can play scales on their instruments and want to learn how to hone their group playing skills.
This group plays in local gigs (mostly parties for their own family members, but, a gig is a gig, right?) and has fun jesting with one another while they learn to musically banter with one another.
We really need a bass player and would love a few more horns! Group consistently has a drummer, a horn, a flute, and keys.
The group renews every three months and most players keep coming back for each quarter. People can join at any time. The time changes based on the group needs but meets once a month around noon on a weekday.
