What benefits will the students receive from taking the Musically Minded Creative Musicianship course?

The teaching method is fun and informative. Students will increase their love for music. When students discover concepts through exploration and play, as opposed to listening to lectures and following texts, they learn on a deeper level. This method opens their ears and increases their ability to recognize and execute rhythmic, melodic and harmonic patterns in creative and new ways. This fosters a “can-do” attitude which increases student competence, confidence, and enjoyment.

The group setting fosters a nurturing community where students are encouraged to inspire, challenge, empower, and support each other.

This course gives students essential tools designed to facilitate musical comprehension thereby enabling them to be more successful in the practice of music.

All of these skills will not only assist with practicing music on their respective instruments and voices, but also increase their compositional techniques and abilities. Discussing and exploring the building blocks of music unveils music as an art form — aiding discovery that the creation and delivery of music is a fluid and personal concept.
