Ensemble playing is an essential experience for all musicians. Musically Minded is a great place to build confidence on your instrument in a supportive environment led by our many experienced and knowledgeable instructors. Enrolling in one of our ensembles will allow kids/teens to:

  • Expand musical horizons while learning to communicate through the language of music.
  • Increase musical repertoire through exposure to new music.
  • Have fun, share ideas and make friends.

 


 

Summer Choirs

 

The summer choir session runs:
June 14-August 22

All choir prices:
Full enrollment: $178
7 Classes: $165
5 Classes: $120
Drop-In: $25

If you are interested in enrolling in one of our choirs, please contact us. We need at least six members per choir before we can launch the ensembles!

Kids’ Choir, Ages 9-12

Tuesdays 4:15-5:15

Led by choir instructor Rita Lackey, students will develop their soulful style in these fun contemporary music choirs. Simple choir choreography is incorporated with each song. Students will also develop vocal technique, teamwork and musicianship skills.

Group Guitar

Beginning Level:
Mondays from 4-5pm, July 11th-August 15th

In this ensemble, students will explore the guitar in a group setting, learning both rhythm accompaniment techniques and music theory. This is a beginning course, no experience is necessary, but it is helpful. Student provides his or her own guitar. For listings of local music stores, please don’t hesitate to call us at 510-601-5700 and we’ll help you find a guitar.

Intermediate Level:
Mondays 7:30-8:30pm, July 11th – August 15th

In this ensemble, students will explore the guitar in a group setting, learning both rhythm accompaniment techniques and music theory. Further development and refinement of basic skills. Introduction some more intermediate and advanced techniques. Students enrolling in the intermediate level class must have prior experience on guitar and understand basic chords/scales. Student provides his or her own guitar. For listings of local music stores, please don’t hesitate to call us at 510-601-5700 and we’ll help you find a guitar.

Strings Ensemble

We’re looking for intermediate string players or a pianist for a new duo/ensemble. Please let us know if you’re interested! The ensemble will meet about twice a month.
