    First Faculty Concert Series Concludes!

Our inaugural program of concerts anchored by Musically Minded faculty members concluded with a program of original jazz compositions by drummer Alan Hall’s and his group of top flight bay area musicians.

Led by Hall, who also was the moving force behind this series, pianist Debbie Poryes, woodwind aficionado Dave Tidball, and bassist Peter Barshay, treated the Sunday brunch audience to a hard-to-match variety of tantalizing and challenging pieces.

Musically Minded aims to become a cultural center for the Rockridge District, a place where families can come to both create and enjoy the arts. These concerts are exactly the kind of event we’re looking to sponsor, and we look forward to holding many more.

    Rockridge!

This week, there is some great news. We’re very happy to become the newest charter member of the Rockridge District Association.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Chris for his help on facilitating our charter membership.

To celebrate, we are participating in the Rockridge Wine and Jazz Stroll, happening tonight along College Avenue from 5pm to 8pm. Teachers Angie Spinelli, Brian Rice and Richard Thomas will be performing. Along with myself (Rafael) and friends of the Academy.

Come hear us at these 2 locations. (The map just takes a moment to load)

But for the record, we’ll be in the parking lot of The Burrito Shop (~5361 College Avenue) as well as Dreyer’s Ice Cream (~5925 College Avenue).

    Today, Friday July 15, 5-8pm
